RED HOOK GOLF CLUB   -  2008 TOURNAMENT FORMATS

OPENING EVENT

Four person event. All participants must have at least 5 rounds of golf registered toward their handicap; signup in pro shop; teams will be formed mixing men and women into some teams. Gross and net divisions. Full handicap. SIGN UP DATES WILL BE PUBLISHED.

MEMBER-MEMBER (Expanded Event)

All participants must have at least 5 rounds registered toward their handicap; two this season. EIGHT STROKE DIFFERENTIAL IN EFFECT FOR ALL TOURNAMENTS.

36 holes, better ball, teams of 2 members, men and women's division, assigned tee times, 90% handicap. BARBECUE to follow each round. SIGN UP DATES WILL BE PUBLISHED.

ONE DAY MEMBER-GUEST INVITATION

Lunch followed by 18-hole event. Teams play at 90% handicap. Net and gross divisions; depending on number of teams. Participants must have a current handicap. Shotgun start at 9:am. SIGN UP DATES WILL BE PUBLISHED.

SENIOR STROKE PLAY (One Day Event)

All participants must have at least ten (10) 18-hole rounds or (20) 9-hole rounds registered toward their handicap and at least 5 must be this season. 90% handicap.

Open to all members 50 and over; men's and women's division,;mixed division if 8 or more teams. Medal play; gross and net divisions; tee times. SIGN UP DATES WILL BE PUBLISHED.

MIXED FOURSOME (One Day Event)

All participants must have established handicaps with 5 or more rounds this season. Players may form their teams or submit their names to the Pro Shop. Those players will be placed in a foursome. 18 holes; 2 best ball format. NET event.  Best ball winner for men and women. SIGN UP DATES WILL BE PUBLISHED.

PRESIDENT'S CUP

Participants must have 10 or more 18-hole current scores toward their handicap. 18 holes each date,; 90% handicap; single elimination; tee times. Event over 2 weekends.

SIGN UP DATES WILL BE PUBLISHED.

THE OVER-UNDER

An invitation extended to the lowest handicap players over and under 50. Men's and women's divisions. Division size requirements in effect.

Format: Assigned tee times, team matches. Ryder Cup team size and format.

Sat.-2 person scramble (9 holes)

Sat.-2 person alternate shot (9 holes)

Sun.-Individual match play (18 holes)

Team points awarded for wins and ties. Captains will determine the matches.

MEN'S MEMBER-GUEST

Limited to the first 60 teams to sign up. Participants must have established handicaps with 10 rounds in current season. Two man teams; tee times Friday practice round optional. (Call for tee times.) 90% handicap; shotgun starts on Sat. and Sun. 

Format: Five (5) 9-hole matches over 2 days; playoff of flight winners divided between # 10 and # 18. Details to follow in invitational letter this spring. SIGN UP DATES WILL BE PUBLISHED BY INVITATION.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

All participants must have at least ten 10 18-hole rounds registered toward their handicap this season. There must be EIGHT players signed up for a championship.

Men's championship flight (designed for players with handicap 10 or less).  When medal format, players with up to 12 handicap may play in flight.  This year match play in all flights. If more than 16 players sign up for Championship Flight, a one day playoff will occur for those that opt into the top flight for 4 spots.

All other flights play match play single elimination at 90% handicap.

Men's and women's division anticipated. SIGN UP DATES WILL BE PUBLISHED.

MEN'S INVITATIONAL

Participants must have ten (10) 18- hole or twenty (20) 9-hole scores or an established handicap. Stableford scoring; 90% handicap; medal play; shotgun start at 9 a.m. 2 man teams; one must be a member; limited to sixty (60) 2-man teams. Letters of invitation will be mailed to all male members. SIGN UP DATES WILL BE PUBLISHED.

RINGER EVENT

Two person teams, 90% handicap, 18 holes Sat. and 18 holes on Sunday. Better score by team on each hole used as final score. Participants must fulfill the handicap requirements of 10 eighteen holes played in current season. Net and gross scoring.  SIGN UP DATES WILL BE PUBLISHED. 

MIXED TWOSOME

All participants must have an established handicap. Mixed teams of 2 RHGC members.

Saturday: Tee times. 9 hole scramble, 9 hole alternate shot.

Sunday:  18 holes scramble w/1:00 p.m. shotgun start.   SIGN UP DATE PUBLISHED.

FRIDAY EVENTS

We are planning to have a couple of impromptu Friday afternoon events; perhaps one a month over the summer. Foursomes may sign up or players can be matched. For a fixed price, we should get a light lunch with tee offs starting around 12:30 or 1:00.  Net and gross winners.   I will start one in May.   See me for details.
