Membership dues for Red Hook Golf Club have remained unchanged for the 2012 season. Over the past three years, Full Time members saw a decrease in their dues payments of approximately 10%. Even with the reduction in dues, the Club’s Board of Directors passed a balanced budget for the fiscal year beginning this October 1. During a period when many golf clubs are struggling, Red Hook has undertaken a review of all its costs, and feels its cost containment program will allow for the reduction in dues while balancing the budget. As part of the plan, the Club is expecting the lower fees will attract new members and provide an incentive for previous members to rejoin. Increased dues has resulted in a declining membership, especially as economic conditions have deteriorated, and the action taken by the Board lowered the dues to a level comparable to 2008. Please contact John Mahon, PGA Professional at 845-758-8652 to discuss membership rates. Increasing membership combined with the continuation of the Club’s special rates for non-members, which were put into effect for the last season, are expected to provide a revenue boost to the club, which combined with cost controls produces a balanced budget. Over the last few seasons, Red Hook initiated several levels of membership to accommodate golfers looking to join a club, but not having the time to commit to full time membership .
Red Hook Golf Club is a semi-private club located in the beautiful Mid-Hudson Valley in Red Hook, NY—near historic Rhinebeck, NY—and easily accessible from the Taconic Parkway and Route 9, which has enabled the club to attract many members from the New York City area. Founded in 1931 as a 9-hole course and later expanded to 18 holes, Red hook offers a wonderful golf experience for players of all levels, and because the course has an outstanding drainage system, it is rarely closed due to weather. In past years, the Club has hosted qualifiers for the Dutchess County Amateur Championship and the New York State Amateur Championship. Open to the general public, Red Hook offers reasonably priced greens fees, an excellent restaurant in Abela's Restaurant on the Green and memberships are available for the 2012 season.
